A little about me

So I feel like my readers don’t know much about me so I’ll introduce myself.

Olive

I am a 20 something years old young lady and the mother of an handsome baby boy. I was born and raised in Jamaica but later migrated to the United States about seven years ago.My two greatest accomplishments were giving birth to my son and graduating from College/University with my bachelors degree. I currently work in finance but my long-term goal is to become a Corporate Lawyer. I enjoy blogging and sharing my life experiences with people whom I share the same or similar interests. I believe every individual controls their own destiny and anything your mind is capable of conceiving you can achieve it. I’ve overcame many obstacles and crossed many bridges, failed and tried again. I am a conqueror and I never give up on my goals. Self improvement plays a huge role in life.  Every morning I wake up, I try to be a better woman and most importantly a better mother. It warms my heart to see women empowering each other because in today’s society women are constantly competing.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

That is one of my favorite verses! 🙂 I really like this ‘about me’ post. Thanks for sharing! 🙂 Why is it that you wish to become a lawyer? How do you like finance? I knew a lady that was once a nurse that decided she wanted to be a real estate agent. And she did it 🙂

Thanks for reading. I always wanted to become a lawyer ever since I was a little girl. I wanted to be a Criminal Lawyer to be exact and my major in college was Criminal Justice. I changed my mind about that and decided that corporate law is the best route for me, it is more broader and business wise. I’ve done many internships and volunteering at law firms, I also used to work at a law firm but when I graduated from College, It was so hard to find a good job as a paralegal and I was hired by a stock broker so I took the offer. Thats the only reason why I work in finance but it is an amazing experience. It teaches me so much about the stock market.

Wow! You’re gaining a lot of experience though, and that is great!! I have a few friends that went to law school and you are right, it’s tough at the moment in the industry for work. But don’t give up 🙂

You sound like a very strong woman who knows what she wants out of life! It’s very inspiring as I’m at that stage in my life where I don’t know what I want. So thank you! 🙂 x

Absolutely beautiful, your son is fortunate to have a driven mother and what a blessing to be a mom. Being a lawyer and having degrees are huge but being a mom sure compares to nothing..enjoy the journey. Your absolutely stunning, a very nice smile with light radiating from you, that’s a gift in itself.
